December 4, 2013: Wine in BC Grocery Stores

Wine in BC Grocery Stores

On November 28, 2013 BC’s Parliamentary Secretary, John Yap and the Ministry of Justice announced that grocery store liquor sales will be recommended for BC.  This comes as one of seventy changes to be proposed under the recent Liquor Policy Review the BC government underwent in Fall of this year.  The remaining changes will not be announced until 2014.

Consumers spoke loud and clear during the review, but how this looks once enacted is still speculation.  If you read the press release (thanks to www.winelaw.ca website) you find that the government is proposing maintaining the same cap on licenses in the province.  How will this be possible?  What impact will this change have on LRS stores, private wine stores, BC restaurants and BC wineries?

Bring your insight, your questions and your comments to tonight’s #BCWineChat from 8-9pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2013.
