Winery Sustainability Programs  

What is BC doing to build for its future?  Are there things that the wineries and the vineyards are doing that people consider sustainable practices?  Are there things that you feel the wineries should be doing that they are not that would send a message that our industry is acting responsibly and sustainably?  What practices have you heard other wine regions subscribe to that you are unsure if we are doing here at home?

Why do winemakers put their wines in oak?  What does oak bring to a wine and how can it help and hurt a wine?  From the geeky winemakers discussing which oak they prefer for which wines to the controversy over whether a wine should age in oak at all…every person seems to have an opinion when it comes to wine + oak.  Bring it to the chat tonight!

What is Canadian Wine Culture? 

It’s a simple question but probably not that easy to answer.  What is Canadian Wine Culture?  Do we have one?  Are there things that are similar and unifying between the areas of our country that make wine or are we just too vast a country to have similarities?

Wine Clubs: Are you a Member? Why/Why Not?  

Wine clubs in BC.  Do you belong to one?  Why?  Do you have questions about how they work? If you belong to one what do you get that makes it unique over purchasing the wine without being a club member?  Do you belong to other clubs outside of British Columbia?

A multitude of things we can discuss about BC wine clubs so uncork or unscrew your favourite BC wine, pull up a couch and your laptop and follow the #BCWineChat hashtag…#BCWineChat
